Ginger wine! Apparently, alcohol kills the "h pylori germ" that often causes stomach acid and of course, ginger is useful anyway. One shot of this and my stomach settled. Other alcoholic drinks work too but not beer and never in excess.

You can do it!

Acid Reflux control is all about the diet. One should refrain from sugars, carbonated beverages, high acid fruits (lemons) and veg (tomatoes). Alcoholic beverages, too. A high fiber diet is usually recommended, consisting of fruits like bananas and melon, and lots of green leafy veg. If you eat nuts make sure they are unsalted, and one should refrain from eating grains altogether. The human digestive system is not made to process them, despite the fact that we've integrated them into our diets for centuries. Try adding sage or fennel or ginger to your meals as you prepare them. Sage is also a natural bowel cleanser, wiping out harmful gut and intestinal bacteria that causes gas.

Some remedies for teating heartburn symptoms immediately are:

1tsp. Baking soda in 8oz. warm water. Drink all at once for best results.

1 to 2 cups yogurt. Both the calcium and the enzymes help clean your gut. Yogurt is a great source of calcium for those suffering from lactose issues as it, in its fermented state, contains inconsequential levels of lactose.

1 serving sugar-free metamucil. Metamucil is a high fiber thickener. The psyllium will bind to the stomach bile, turning it into an easily digested gel.

Milk is not recommended for the lactose intolerant, however, if you are ok to drink milk, 1 or 2 glasses of cold milk works wonders for mild cases.

Creammy peanut butter

For the past several years I would get debilitating acid reflux that felt like I was repeatedly being punched in the stomach. I have an rx that I take when symptoms act up but one time I had an episode when I was out of town and forgot to bring them with me. After confined to bed for several hours and symptoms are only becoming worse, I had remembered reading somewhere that peanut butter can help due to the coating it lines your stomach with.

I didn't have peanut butter but instead found reeses peices, and within 20 min all my pain went away! I tried eating spoonfuls of peanut butter sometime after that when the medicine was taking forever to kick in, and almost 10 min later I felt good again. Simply amazing.

Like magic!

I have suffered from acid reflux all my life. I've tried prescriptions, over the counter, in my life I've drank so much alka seltzer I probably kept them in business! Nothing helped! I've tried baking soda, lemon water, etc. So one night I had it so bad I couldn't sleep, my throat was on fire! I didn't have any apple cider vinegar, all I had was pickle juice. I thought well it has vinegar so I drank some. Within 10 min no more acid reflux! So now I keep a huge jar of kosher dills all the time. I eat at least one pickle a day and I drink pickle juice after a big meal or spicy meal. Haven't had acid reflux in a year now!

My better half suffers from heart burn all the time. The best way and quickest, is BAKING SODA! - works every single time! Use about 2 teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of water.

Food allergies made it worse

After trying a variety of prescription pills including the famous purple one, the dr. finally did expensive allergy testing. I could not eat gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, etc. When I removed those from my diet, it helped some. Still a bad cold with extreme coughing brought it back even after eliminating these above food or by using a rotation diet.

I take DGL twenty minutes before a meal. During the meal I take a digestive enzymes and slippery elm bark from Swanson's Vitamins.com. Still I was hoarse and got a better result using the 1 T. Of RAW apple cider vinegar with mother in it in a cup of water ten minutes before a meal. I have also started taking 5mg of melatonin before bed and 2 pills of D-Limonene every other day. Fresh cherries are good for the pain, too.

Acid reflux cure 100 percent

My tips on how I completely cured my heartburn and acid reflux.
Tip 1, an immediate relief is found via root ginger. Seems to neutralize the esophagus immediately.
Tip 2, apple cider vinegar diluted with a bit of water and then down it. Every morning.

Cure for acid reflux

I have eliminated the acid based foods from my diet, such as coffee,tomatoes,mustard etc. I eat a salad daily made of canned red beets and mushrooms. I now only get the initial feeling of heartburn just when I'm hungry,between meals.
