The Olive Oil and Hot Water methodThis works really well if you have a moderate earache. Take some extra-virgin olive oil (Italian is the best) and pour it in your ear. Leave it go for about 5 minutes for the oil to soak in, then add a cotton ball in your ear to keep the olive gases in (that's what my mom said). Then, fill up a hot water bottle and take a snooze. When you wake up, your earache will be gone! This works really well for medium-scale earaches, like the one I had last night. But for really you-are-ready-to-cringe-up-in-pain earaches, the tinkle method with a hot water bottle works best. Note: if you can't get olive oil, canola oil is and OK substitute, though it won't have as good of a result.

GarlicTake a clove of garlic and cut it into a "T" Shape, slowly put the long skinny end into your ear, make sure it ISN'T too far into your ear or it wont come out, which is why you have to cut it in a "T"shape, to keep it from falling into your ear, put a bandaid over it and keep it in there for about 5-6 hours, it is great for pain relief and the clove of garlic sucks out the infection, dispose of the clove of garlic immediately after taking it out of you ear. You can also keep it in overnight.

Alcohol and VinegarAn Army Doctor told me to mix 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) with vinegar in a 50/50 solution. Allow 1 eyedropper full of the solution remain in the ear for about 10 seconds. Note: Be carefull when you stand as this will leave you a little dizzy for a few seconds.

Rice bag heating padThis kinda goes with the hot towel treatment. I was having a pretty bad time with an ear ache last night, got up read some of the remidies listed here. Didn't really have anything to used except towel, then i thought about the rice bag heating pad my wife made for me. I put it in the microwave for 5 min. and curled it in a circle on my pillow and placed my ear on top. Got me through the night and feel pretty good right now. thanks for the help.

Quick Warm ClothI had this unbelievably screaming earache out of no where and i dont know what caused it. but for quick easy pain relief, I read about putting a cloth under almost boiling water temperature and soaking it. Then tip the affected ear facing the ground and place the cloth/rag underneath, firmly against the ear. The steam rose into my ear and loosened the crud and wax a bit for immediate pain relief. After doing this for 15-20 min, I felt the crud moving around making its way out to drain. This is just for immediate relief until you can put something in your ear to kill off the infection.

Natural Cure for Eachaches & InfectionI cured my baby's ear infection at home in about a week's time by doing the following: place warm garlic oil drops in ears several times daily until infection is gone. Also crush a fresh garlic clove and steep in hot water for about 5 minutes; administer the "garlic water" in a dropper orally 3 or 4 times a day. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and is very effective in killing infection-causing bacteria and viruses. You can mix the garlic water with juice to help mask the offensive taste.
For earaches: combine several drops each of garlic oil, grapefruit seed extract, and eucalyptus essential oil. Administer in ears with a medicine dropper several times daily.
